From a buyers perspective, you could get your price in line with the
ablecomm's and the www.kx-td.com prices. My local Panasonic dealer
wanted about 35% more than what I could buy it from Michael for. They
also wanted 800 to install, and I had already run all the wire. So it
was basically hang, punch, & program. I ended up doing it all myself
as I thought $200 per hour was unreasonable. I ended up buying the
system on ebay and some stuff from Michael who was very helpful. I
realize most won't go throught the learning curve I had to, but I'm
glad I did. I can change stuff I need to as the issues arise, etc.
This list was very helpful, and I made some great contacts who in the
future I would use as I would RATHER NOT do it myself. Those of you
who take advantages of internet sales, and hook up with the people who
are selling them, could probably make a pretty good living as I'm sure
it's a big market. Some jobs pay better than others in ALL work,
sometimes you don't make as much as you'd like, but I've found
sometimes you need to take the work that is in front of you. You may
also want to take into consideration that if you are referred as an
installer from an internet site, you are spending no dollars to get the
business.
