Yes, I don't think we have something in our code to remove the old ones.

In trunk/AOO42X this is addressed by using generic names internally for
the dictionaries, but every upgrade until 4.2.0 will face the same issue.

Yes, that will do. Keep that text until we have a draft for the 4.1.8
Release Notes.
