I used 12 inches = 16 units for all my real world conversions. The end result so far "feels" exactly like the real world location, as far as how high the ceilings are, or how long it takes to walk down a hallway. The only things that distorts the feeling is the wide field of view in the game.
Its pretty simple to convert real-world made objects to this scale using SketchUp, just scale objects up by a multiplier of 1.25 -ZapWizard On Wed, Nov 9, 2011 at 10:39 AM, Matt Hoffman <[email protected]>wrote: > I did a study a while back - In the original Half Life 2 it appeared that > models were build to a 16u = 12in scale, while buildings were generally on > a 12:12 ratio. > > This was probably done in an effort to make humans look right, or it could > have just been a combination of factors, perhaps leftover from GoldSrc. > > On Wed, Nov 9, 2011 at 8:15 AM, Eugenio Roman > <[email protected]>wrote: > > > Great, now I cant wait for vacation.
