We are working on the tags.

The problem of collections is a bit ugly and are working to simplify the
presentation.

thanks

Subject: Re: [L4Dmapper] The Workshop

I'm not sure if workshop is 'moddable' to tailor for each game. It would be
cool if the blog's featured campaign section was embedded in l4d2 workshop.

What I've noticed so far with limited use of workshop...
--Tagging, in a broad sense. This probably has known or expected issues with it
already. I primarily have a personal issue with content discovery (or haven't
figured it out), so I rely on categories+recent items filtering. Examples: an
obvious one is that survival-only, etc. maps aren't separate from campaigns; a
submitter may consider an official campaign poster mod as campaign, which isn't
far-fetched for some and nonsensical to others. In my case, I have to ignore
those 'badly tagged' items when I'm looking for any recently submitted
campaigns or new submissions to a category. Would it be unwise to explain what
'campaign' means in the workshop tool, is it intentionally left vague to see
how people interpret the tag names, ...?
--For newcomers to workshop only. Collections are not intuitive for most
friends so far. Another buddy or myself has to give a heads up before or after
the matter. A handful have accidentally downloaded a single VPK.
Luckily, it's only a one time bump in the road to what is already positive in
more ways than negative.

And a mapping section would be helpful, but there would be a lot of value
missing if at least some of the threads from SPUF l4d2 mapping forums aren't
moved over to the new one at some time or another. There's a treasure trove of
solutions and examples to development problems among the chatter there. It also
has the expected effect of separating people a bit more. Something like a
link/announcement in SPUF on the top of the subforum may help.
