Thats a great suggestion and with the workshop connection, i'm sure Valve tracks these things for their own campaigns so they can easily implement that feature to every (if it's not already there) campaign. However, i think they are unwilling to share such data publicly but for the owner of the campaign, it would be a valuable data.

Something I just thought of that I feel might be useful to mappers is some
kind of statistic feedback. What I mean by this is send the mapper some
averaged stats about their campaign such as the number of deaths per
chapter, number of restarts, difficulty, time spent on each chapter, how
many times each chapter has been completed, etc. This way we can see where
in our campaigns we might need to make adjustments.

Arthur brings up some really good points about tagging items. Regarding
survival/scavenge maps being listed under campaigns, there's a reason for
that: When using the Workshop Manager from the Authoring Tools, the only
choice available for any type of map is Campaign. On the Workshop itself,
there are three tags available for mapping: Versus, Survival, and
Campaigns. Problem is, these are only available when making a Collection!
It would help a lot to have that fixed, although that wouldn't address the
fact of people being able to call something whatever they want...

Here's a couple of suggestions: To the existing map-related tags (Versus,
Survival, and Campaigns), add two more: Maps and Scavenge. That way,
there's an umbrella tag for all maps (Maps), and tags for all other types
of gameplay. It wouldn't be a bad idea to have the tags editable by the
author on each maps page, either, as well as fixing the upload tool
(Workshop Manager).
