An idea occurred to me. As near as I can tell, right now the only
indication that content you have subscribed to has updated is seeing Steam
downloading "L4D2 Workshop Content," or upon directly noticing a change
with that particular add-on in-game. Beyond that, there is no real
indication of "This campaign has updated, I should play it and see what's
changed!" Would it be possible (or even desirable?) for the Steam Update
popup window, in addition to notifying users that a game is on sale, having
a free weekend, etc., to notify users that a subscribed workshop addon has
been updated?

I realize that this could conceivably result in users getting a barrage of
these notifications, especially if they've subscribed to a lot of workshop
content (maybe it could be opt-in or opt-out?), but I was curious whether
it might even be feasible or useful.
