Please note that I have nothing against closed-membership groups. I have initiated them myself. However, I have never marketed them on other groups, nor tried to recruit members from other groups. The manner in which this invitation was issued was ostrasizing at its' core and divisive to the original group. Usually, individual invitations are sent to those members of the group that you think would like to join the new group. It takes some time and research but it shows respect to the original group.
I also have no problem with my mutt being a breed unto itself. I consider Labradoodles to be a breed, however, the official, sanctioning canine community does not. Oh well, their loss. This information does not minimize how I feel about my dog. Just because I see him as brilliant, gorgeous, and otherwise adorable doesn't make him a true "breed" and I'm OK with that. He fits my requirements. I knew I would raise some ire in posting the message and while I appreciate the input it generated, I stand by my original message. The invitation to the new AUSSIES ONLY group was exclusionary and elitist and could/should have been handled differently. Karen ------------------------ Yahoo!
