I think i made a mistake - in front of the crate i kept the play pen and the crate door is open so he sleeps in the playpen not in the crate. his bed is on the pen too(bought it last night). how could i change it and make it a habit so he could sleep in the crate and play in the pen? today he was in the crate in my car cried a lot but i did not do anything, how do i train him there? also, how do i make only one spot for potty on my yeard? i would love to do that for my older dog too.please help.

Sorry, I am asking for too many things, but honestly it would be very helpful for me.

more too come :0)

put the crate by your bed. take him out at night when he asks.  if you go out every hour just because you are creating a monster.

it helps to take away all food and water two hours before bedtime to help him over night

during the day go out - when you have a pup that HAS done his 'job' he gets supervised housetime. if he does not - back in the crate for 15 minutes then try again

use the same door and the same spot in the yard every time

try hanging bells by the door to ring with his nose or paw everytime out along with the go potty command or whatever words you choose. he can learn to ask to go out.
