i have an idea for you: escargo? maybe you could find you a really
nice recipe and ....? lol! there is also the idea to raise medicated
leaches which i like a lot, but have not yet done.
Uh huh. Good ideas Did you ever see that movie, The Jerk, with Steve Martin
and Bernadette Peters: "Waiter! There are SNAILS on her plate!"
I've thought about raising silkworms in my mulberry trees, too, until I heard
someone explain it's cruelty to animals. Actually, I don't like worms that
much, but that red one took the cake.

are you talking about a bright red worm, or just a reddish brown worm?
Well, it was pretty red, but not brilliant red, and not really brownish red
either. It was like something out of a bad dream, that was real.
I didn't think worms even had eyes.

there is something called a bloodworm that grows in new england, but i
don't think they live there. did you buy the shrub and transplant it?
it could have come with the shrub. we have gigantic worms that people
use to fish with in tennessee. they are earth worms and some can get
as big as 1/2 inch thick and about 8 to 10 or more inches long, but i
thought everyone had them.
The sad part is, that bush has been here since we moved in. That worm was
part-way out of the base of the bush -- extending maybe five inches. It came
out
when I was watering, like worms do, and was laying on the ground. When I put
my hand down there, in the shady area where it was, that thing darted back, all
the way back into the root of the bush, quick as a flash. It really freaked
me out.
I don't if it was a bloodworm or not. Does it sound like one?

i personally don't go in my yard looking for bugs because the most
common bug in my yard is a wasp. there are also ugly beetles of all
kinds. my nephew found a really ugly bugand we had to research it on
the internet to find out its name. it was an assasin bug or another
name for it was a wheel bug. it had a fang about an inch and a half
long and it had not yet formed its wings. it would suck the blood from
the other bugs in the cage with it.
Yikes - that really sounds horrible -- it makes you wonder why these things
were ever created.

i am still in awe of a bug i saw about 6 or 8 years ago. if anyone in
tennessee on this chat forum knows what it might be i would appreciate
it very much if i could get the name. it is about 3 inches long, looks
like a giant brown ant, and has a giant darker brown bubble on the back
end and clicks when it walks. it crossed in front of me and i honestly
thought it was a wind-up bug. i'm sure there would be no toy made to
look like that.
That is amazing -- my sisters in Georgia have told me about the humongous
bugs they have out there. And YET they are trying to talk me into moving down
there.
They don't have a clue.
