At a guess (my DH is English and I've heard these before), American translations would be "Pulling your leg" or "Putting one over on you." If the woman is a little older, she might understand "Pulling the wool over your eyes," but I think that's used less commonly now. I don't think "dumping on me" is quite the same thing.
