Betty Ann

I travel to the States every year. All I take is a Travel Adapter that I buy in the UK (they even sell them at the airports now, but more expensive that is the stores), and plug whatever I want to use into that. If using the travel hairdryer, I make sure that it is set to 120v instead of 240v, but it's not a problem to use at 240v appliance on a 120v supply - it's the other way round that causes problems! I've used the same travel adapter for charging toothbrush, camera, camcorder etc when visiting the states and no problems. It's just an adapter to allow you to plug our 3-pin (square) plugs into your round sockets.

My partner uses rechargeable batteries for his camera and again he just plugs the unit into the travel adapter before plugging it into the mains with no problems.

Hope you find this useful.
