No Dora, you weren't just lucky!! I too use a piece of felt to move my lace with, only I use 1cm thick felt and work on a large piece and when I want to move my lace it is just a matter of moving it up the pillow and inserting another piece of felt below the current one, in just the same way that you would insert a new block on a block pillow. This works well for me. No tying up bobbins into parcels, no extra pins. Just a minute's job. And it does not distort the lace because no pins are removed.
