I should have finished reading the whole digest before I sent my reply!! I
probably have not made it clear, that I work on a large piece of engineering
felt, which covers my pillow - I have several different sized pieces so I
can accommodate most shapes of lace and add as I need them. This also
protects my pillow as the pins don't actually go into the pillow. The
pricking is placed on top in the usual way and so does not need to be moved
when I want to shift the lace. Of course you need extra pieces of pricking
if you are working on a large piece that won't fit onto your pillow.

Hope this clarifies things. Several of us here use this method and are very
happy with it.

Sincerely,

Sue F, Masterton, New Zealand
