Here in my area of Oregon USA, lacemaking is growing. When I started ten
years ago, there were only a few people at our monthly meetings. This past
year or so, we have had about 15 with 1/4 of these being beginners. The
experienced lacers spend alot of the meeting coaching the beginners. Some
of them contract for private lessons and others just use the monthly meeting
to get advise and help.

We take every opportunity to demo that we can find. We gained 2 or 3 new
lacemakers from this year's county fair, and one from state fair.

PS -- If you are in the Pacific Northwest, our Lace Day is this Saturday
Oct. 4th in Wilsonville. Contact me if you are in the area and want
directions or details.

Happy lacing,

Alice in Oregon - Home from a nice weekend camping, but have the sniffles.
