I did try wedges first, but I think that perhaps the roller didn't sit very deeply into the hole, and it was "just" a roller with no central dowel to slide into grooves. It literally pushed into the box and the hole was not very deep. I think that maybe the maker thought it fitted tightly enough to be secure but it rolled towards you. Although wedges stopped that to a certain extent, at intervals as I was working if I needed to tension firmly I would find I was pulling the roller up out of the box, which was when I put the tapes over the top. They held it down and with one added pin, stopped it rolling.
