Tamara wrote of her frustration with the gear on the Toustou
pillow. I also have a Toustou pillow, and in fact have the
"twin" of her home-made pillow, as we made ours together one
summer as part of a guild project. And yes, I agree that
the apron is a tom-tom and the wedge is far superior to the
geared stop. But even with the tom-tom effect, I like this
pillow a lot.

However, I intend to use my Toustou, not just sit and admire
it! So my first step was to attach a nylon strap to the
brass gear stop. The strap is only about 1/8' wide, and
sticks up an inch or so and gives me something to grab when
I want to release the gear and move the roller backwards.
So that problem is solved. The next thing we (this includes
DH) intend to do is make a narrow ring to go over the gear.
It will match the gears on the inside and have a much finer
set of "teeth" on the outside, so that the moves won't have
to be so huge. That's on DH's "Honey-do" list, and we'll
just have to wait patiently to see when I get it!
