Ah, yes, that brings up the *other* issue re: pins.  Threads need time 
to "learn" where they're supposed to stay.  Think about removing the 
unused thread from a bobbin--it's quite curly.  But it was in much 
bigger loops when it came off the spool.  And if you leave it hanging 
for a day, it will be straight for the tassle at the end of a 
bookmark.  When possible, I usually leave pins in for 24 hours, even if 
that's a whole lot longer than 2".
