Sue and Alison,
You and me both! Lace books seem to dive for cover if I hove into view in
second-hand bookshops! But - my husband picked up the Tebbs book for me -
complete with the inserts, and in perfect, mint condition - in a Charity
Shop, whilst he was waiting for me whilst I was at the Chiropodists, so good
things *do* happen.
One awful story though. One of my class went into a charity shop, as
she'd been told that the gear belonging to one of our acquaintances who had
passed away had been taken to said charity shop. She went in to see what
she could liberate, only to be told that, as no-one knew what the bobbins
and bits-and-pieces were, it had all been burned. In this lacey area of
Suffolk - which adjoins both lace-thriving areas of Essex and Norfolk - I
find this hard to credit, but it was a major blow to all of us. The howls
of anguish which greeted the shop staff *may* ensure that they don't do
anything like that again ...
Carol - in a cold and windy, not-very-summery Suffolk UK

Welcome Alison, sorry,I am afraid that the lace bug has got you I can
tell by your quandary over which lace to try next you will end up like
the rest of us with several pillows all sporting different types of lace
that "we just have to try"
Happy lacing
