Hey, Tamara, maybe it would make a good article for the Bulletin. How to judge and what to look for in competition entries.
I dare say it would, but don't look in my direction for writing it; I'm just a "rude mechanical" :) I provide patterns -- always hoping that someone will be seduced to reproduce one of them and will get some pleasure out iof it. And I add just a smidgen of whys and wherefores -- always hoping that if people uderstand the process better, they'll be motivated to design their own things or, at least, play around more with technical "stuff". That's plenty enough work for me.
And anyway... Hasn't there been an article like that in the IOLI Bulletin once? A while back, and I can't remember who wrote it but it was solid enough to use either as is, or as a springboard for other judges to adapt (I think Devon mentioned using it or some parts of it)
