I too am struggling with translations from German to English and hope that anyone replying to Amanda's email will post to Arachne as well so that I can store the translations away for future reference.
I use mainly Google Translate, the International Lace Dictionary and a big Cassells German/English dictionary, but it's hard work. I recently purchased a copy of Motieven in Kleur and paid a few extra Euros for an English translation, which came separately, spiral bound - it was well worth the additional expense. I wish more European language books could be published this way, instead of either (a) being in the one language, or (b) using pages and pages of the original book by printing the whole book in several languages, with incomplete instructions so as to fit it all in.
