[lace] lace pins and finger tips

When working on my lace on a regular basis, the tip of my pin finger 
becomes a bit sore.  As I have raynauds I am a little concerned about 
not looking after the finger well enough (I do know someone who had to 
loose tips of fingers and I dont want that problem).   We have spoken 
about the sticky pad things that stick on the end of the finger, can 
anyone tell me how well they work, if they stay put on the finger for an 
evening without problems like catching on threads or whatever.  Maybe 
its time I searched some out and got them ordered. I have tried other 
things but cant work with them on my finger.
I would be very interested to hear from anyone with experience of using 
them.
