Yep. "Long e" (or "long a") means something else in English than it
does in German (or in Polish, for that matter). Try saying a short "e"
(as in men, pet, let, etc) twice - "e e" - and then eliminate the space
-"ee". It's not *quite* "ey", though "ey" will do in a pinch :)
