Hello to One & All! Bookmarks...Ive made hundreds of them! Probably well over 5 or 600. Im a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism, SCA, since 1975. Its because of them that I discovered bobbin lace making.
I would make them in our kingdom, Caid, colors, blve & silver. Or if we have visiting 'royality' in that kingdom colors. Sometimes as the award for the tournament champion. Last year we had a pink ribbon tourney to raise $$ for breast cancer, Susan B Koleman Foundation. I designed a ribbon bookmark & made 30 pink ribbons for the event. I make bookmarks for special events: weddings, birthdays, sports teams, holidays etc. Nothing is safe! LOL! In fact this weekend I made 2 in purple & gold & finished 7.75 yards of bobbin lace trim to be given away at Pennsic War. Ovr kingdom is giving items to the kingdom of Calontir, whose colors are purple & gold. I also finished a pink ribbon & started another to put on my Etsy store, Susie Rose Designs.Etsy.com . My sister & hubby will be renewing their wedding vows in Dec. As soon as Sis decides on her colors, Ill be making bookmarks for them. Storage - I use a long business envelope.
