And a BIG HUG to you Bev!!! Thank you for sending me to the Opera--I actually
own some of this thread & love it for Roumanian point lace. I didn't make the
connection with Anchor/Coats/Patton et al but I'm OK now after some extra
Googling at your suggestion! I found Coats Freecio filo de Scozia (Italian) in
Brenda's book & how could they not be the same thread with a slightly different
spelling?? The Freecia threads I just bought are made in Hungary & IMHO, they
are not the same as the Opera. The Freecia seem more firm--just what I was
looking for. What's really cool is that the w/cm is 17 for both DMC perle 8 &
the Freecia vs 13 for Opera. I love it when a plan comes together--now if I
can control the 3Z instead of the 2S twist, I'll be in business. Will let you
know how this all works out. Thanks again. Sincerely, Susan Hottle, Erie, PA
USA

It seems that the Freecia is replacing their Opera line, and the
sizing is a bit different. Freecia 12 is/was Opera 10.
