Lyn You don't need to boil the lace to shrink it. After the lace is finished, lay it out on a water proof surface where you can leave it for 12-24 hours. Spray it with hot tap water in a plant mister bottle. Really saturate it. If you look closely as the water absorbs, you can actually see the threads contracting. Leave the lace lie there undisturbed until it is complete dry. It will have shrunk as far as it wants to, and you can then sew it onto the pre-shrunk cloth. I do this with all my handkerchief edgings, and it works. Lorelei
