The only issue here is whether it will save Evan and/or other developers and code users some 'work' explaining things,which in turn might give a better first impression of the project. I take Evan on his word that it is a pain and causing confusion when he talks about it. A name change might not stop the confusion, but he has a right to try. And a name change is absolutely no reason to fork, IMHO.
