welcome to LanguageTool. We don't directly support XML, but we offer a 
way for developers to use LT in a way so they can specify what's markup 
and what's text[1].

How are you using LT - as a Java API, command line, or the stand-alone 
GUI?

Indeed we're looking for a maintainer for the English rules. It 
basically means adding new rules to detect more errors, and improve 
existing rules so they cause less false alarms. Any help with this is 
welcome. The links to the documentation are at [2].
