If you are talking about
# wificonfig -i iwi0 setparam radio=off
Yes, it's a great RFE. We can try to find if any walkaround is there.

One point, we can't compare Solaris ipw/iwi with Windows XP driver, 
since Solaris ipw/iwi are using the *opened* firmwares which I believe 
are different to the ones Windows XP driver is using now.
