I use Enlightenment e16.8.x. Have you used this? If you use the Ubuntu / 
Debian package its probably really old and buggy. At least the one 
provided with Deb 4.0 was. I've been compiling Enlightenment myself for 
quite some time now.

I guess I was looking for a more technical answer though. How does GTK 
or whatever in Lazarus figure out the position of windows. Is this 
feedback that comes from the window manager? If so maybe that is my 
problem.I have had this on at least two different versions of Linux and 
possibly three. My memory is not that clear. :-)
