This had nothing to do with GAIM (which stands for GTK+ AOL Instant
Messenger) being registered already. GAIM was using AOL in their
product name for exactly the same product which is misleading and
illegal because AOL owns that name.
As for Lazarus, I don't see any need whatsoever to register the name
Lazarus. It won't bring anything additional if we do. There should
be no problem for the Lazarus foundation to support a non trademarked product.

Don't know if it was said before, but, isn't Lazarus in english a
name as Peter, Paul, etc??? If it's a "person" name no one can
register it as trademark, no matter where you live. I dude that the
church will change the biblic passage when jesus resurrects his
friend lazarus because lazarus is now a trademark.
