This had nothing to do with GAIM (which stands for GTK+ AOL Instant
Messenger) being registered already. GAIM was using AOL in their product
name for exactly the same product which is misleading and illegal
because AOL owns that name.
As for Lazarus, I don't see any need whatsoever to register the name
Lazarus. It won't bring anything additional if we do. There should be no
problem for the Lazarus foundation to support a non trademarked product.
