The Spectrocam is a $1,300 device as far as I can tell. Way too expensive for most users unless this is for a business. The DTP41 and DPT51 are strip readers which will work for profiling printers but are of little use for profiling a monitor. Al though both are important. The Spectrolino/Spectroscan is a $3,800 device. Again not with in my budget. Argyll also appears to have written code to support the DTP92 which sells for about $485. This is for monitor calibration and uses a USB port. This will only work for CRTs not LCDs. This is getting close to being affordable if there was software available. Argyll does not appear to be supported any more. But it may contain some basic building blocks that can be leveraged to extend Linux color management capabilities. -- Hal V. Engel
