Hallo,
we are using also the R800 and since one week 2 R1800 Printers.

a) The best results we got with the "gloss Option" OFF.
b) If we used RGB-Pictures with source "sRGB, AdobeRGB or ECI-RGB",
we had the same problems with dark RGB-Colors. So we profiled the
pictures from our Camera-Profile to "LStar-RGB" and then made the
conversion to our Epson Rxxx Profile. This work was giving great
results, which were not able to compare with the before results.

So our motives are lots of dark wooden-furniture and
chocolate pictures. Which are real good whith the new
workflow, Camera->LStar->Printer.

The Website from LStar is:
http://www.lstarrgb.com

There are the profiles and a lot of documentation on what it does.

Regards Thomas
