Is anybody working on support for hardware colorimeters like the
ColorVision Spyder? I looked around for the documentation required
to write a driver for it, but haven't found anything.
If I could find a protocol spec, I could write a Linux driver
that would address all these issues.
Does it have to be the "Spyder"?
There might be alternative devices for which the spec is available. Read
http://www.dl-c.com/discus/messages/2384/5216.html?1124673715.
Digital Light & Color (www.dl-c.com) provide monitor calibration for
Windows based on a colorimeter by Sequel Imaging. If you search the
above forum for "Spyder" you will find a few threads comparing those
devices. They chose Sequel because the protocol spec was available.
Apparently it's better quality too.
