I am not that familiar with MediaWiki, but can say a couple of things about
Drupal.

Drupal has the ability to define custom roles (such as publisher) and then
make only specific fields available to that role. I just created a site
where some non-technical users needed to add content and set it up so all
they needed to do was enter in a title and the content and press submit.
There is no WISYWIG editor built-in, but there are a couple of good add on
modules such as TinyMCE.

Drupal also has a video module ( http://drupal.org/project/video ) that
supposedly makes it easy to add all kinds of video.
Another module, workflow (http://drupal.org/project/workflow) allows the
administrator to setup workflows for types of content so that content can go
through all kinds of different approval processes if necessary. If you are
looking for MySpace type functionality, there is some great work in that
area as well.

All that said, it takes a while to get a feel for how Drupal works and the
documentation is lacking in some areas. It can also take some time to figure
out the Drupal theming system.

I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking to get something up overnight,
but if someone is willing to learn Drupal then it is an extremely flexible
system with a great community.

I am no Drupal ninja, but I'm happy to try and help out with any Drupal
questions off the list.
