What I did was rather limited indeed: I started off dachstein-rc2, implemented the no-patch setup that I documented in a previous post, added pivot_root to bbox, removed ipchains and ipchains-related programs, replaced them by iptables and added shorewall. That's basically it. I also played around with kernel 2.4.14 config files (see my original post). The one proposed is a minimal one. But the two others would fit on the floppy. I am sure it is possible to trim that further without too much problem. For the rest you have to congratulate Charles & Tim. > The disk booted on one computer but not another. Did you use > the -s parameter to syslinux? That's Dachstein original syslinux. I am sure it must have been setup that way.
