Bob,

I may have confused the issue.  Your host name or CX number for Phoenix
AZ  area Cox@home users should only be placed in the 'send host-name
field of the /etc/dhclient.conf file--lrcfg, 3, 3, 1.  If you added the
CX number in the other field you will experience problems with DHCP. 
Did you try the latest DHCPClient package with the latest version of
DHCP yet?
