It seems to be the correct module.

I suggest you may try to boot from the iso-image, extract modules.tgz and load 
the three modules as I did with virtualbox. The driver was up and running in 
five minutes including download... If that fails, I'd say it's a pb with vmware 
(which I never really used, just edited the doc a few years ago, after a 
description Andrew Nagy sent us).
