Hi,
Finally I have decided to upgrade to version 3.1 as my 2.1-version
(running since 2006 without any problems) can do with an upgrade.
As I don't want to change before I'm sure the new version runs equally
well (or better) as the old one, I want to try and tune it first in a
virtual environment with vmware player.
I'm using the floppy image, as a virtual floppy in vmware. It starts OK
and I started to change the various configuration files.
I stored the pcnet32 module in /lib/modules (as prescribed in the
manual) but it will not install (both cards are not seen) and when I try
to install it with insmod I get a segmentation fault error.
I hope somebody can give me a solution for this problem.

Another problem is that I want to install in vmware a virtual
USB-device, i.e. for Vmware it's an USB-device but in reality it's a
.img file. Does anybody know how to do that?
Thanks in advance,
Joep
