So you have master and client on the same CPE?

I was writing about MAC of the access point, not of the card. iwconfig writes out MAC of the access point, like this:

Mode:Managed Frequency:2.412GHz Access Point: XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX

BTW, I tried rip and the same symptoms occur.

The MAC of the card in managed mode is 00:02:6F:08:21:DF.

The card is a Long Ranger, see http://www.netgate.com/NL2511.html for
details. If you have a preferred card, please mention it.

Then it's a networking problem in general, not OSPF.

If you issue "iwconfig" command on the MANAGED node, what is the MAC address of the access point that it outputs?

By the way, what are the wireless cards that you use?

Only OSPF didn't work? Were you able to ping one node from another?

No, I cannot ping across the wireless link if the "MANAGED" node is started
first.

Vladimir, I mentioned in a earlier message, the master node must be up
first for ospf to add routes. The master node is the node with the radio
in MASTER node. The linking radio on the other node is in MANAGED mode.

I though zebra/ospf may setup the routes after some time passed. This
does not seem to be the case. I have left the two nodes turned on for
about an hour, and still no routes have been setup.

Only OSPF didn't work? Were you able to ping one node from another?

If I start the master node first, the routes are established within 30
seconds of the second node completing the boot process. Does this sound
normal?

Is there any way to kickstart zebra/ospf to establish or re-establish
routes.

Ray
