For the above example, this is probably overkill for me, but I can see the 
value of this when depositing multiple checks at once, to indicate where each 
check came from.  Example (I saw this example somewhere):

2012-03-10 Paycheck
            Assets:BofA:Savings
            Income:Salary                         $100
            ;Payee: Alice
            Income:Salary                         $200
            ;Payee: Bob
