Yes and no… NONE of the big clubs, particularly the two spanish giants here are
spending within their means. Their budgets are approved every year by their
“members” but nobody really has a clue how the fek Real Madrid pay €240m in one
season etc, and of course note the cash flow problems FCB have had recently.

Still though something has to be implemented and Platini’s idea is not all bad
I reckon…

Those rules are just intended to protect the traditional big sides like Man U,
Real Madrid, Barcelona etc from upstarts like Man City. It'd be a sad day for
football if they ever got implemented, as it would basically freeze the league
tables and Champions League, with those clubs forming a permanent elite (even
more so than the ludicrously named "Champions" League does now).

If Platini's rules ever get implemented for entry into the Champions League - a

club cannot spend more than it's annual income - I cannot see how Man City will

be able to enter.

Reports are Motherwell dont have a leg to stand on though over this transfer

though as apparently Man City are paying almost ALL the costs of this just

so he doesn't play in the premiership, hence the costs to CCFC are

negligible (in fact, the deal is roumoured to be heavily profitable for them

when factoring in gate receipts, merchandise etc.).

If anything, it'll have the inverse effect as it looks like a financially

shrewd investment for them.

As for Man City though, they are well and truly f***ed up in terms of

financial balance at the moment, its ludicrous!
