This was by no means a classic and will soon be forgotten but it was a decent workman-like performance and a good away win.That is 2 unbeaten records we have broken in the last 2 games and we are starting to get a bit of momentum,it is a shame that we do not play again now for 2 weeks.It was a bit of a strange day all round the first pub we went in in Watford (The Flag) was a huge place with 'star lights' along one wall for discos but was in fact the pool room,even more bizarre there were 3 lads dressed as Bananaman playing -Warrington fans on way to Wembley.We then ended up in Wetherspoons which was full of Leeds and we discussed the fact that wherever we play you can always find a pub full of Leeds fans in colours but that you never see away fans doing the same in Leeds town centre, strange. Anyway on to the game and as I expected it was the same starting XI who were so good v Millwall.A couple of shots from Howson and Johnson came to nothing as we started Ok and then a nice cross from Kilkenny was headed back across goal and Becchio won it in the air and the ball hit the keeper and fell to Naylor who scored from close range. So 1 up in the first 5mins or so, could we keep a clean sheet for once in the league.Well as you all know the answer to that was 'Yes' and we did so reasonably comfortably. They huffed and puffed for the rest of the game without ever really threatening or creating clear chances and whilst part of me worried that one goal is never enough we never looked like conceding.At the other end we did not do too much either.Sam was out of sorts and was subbed for Gradel who at least had a couple of runs to keep us entertained. Watt was subbed for McCormack (rather than Somma) who showed a couple of good touches and had one half chance - he did enough to show that he has something and could be a big hit for us, but needs to get his fitness and match sharpness up first. Like I say a pretty forgettable spectacle with both sides losing possession easily and a lot of niggling fouls etc that made it very stop start. One of the highlights and the one I want to see again on LUTV was an amazing volley cun scissor kick by Kasper - great stuff. Collins, Naylor and Connolly all stood tall with help first from Bessone who, without being more than average, did have his best game for us before being replaced at half time by the equally average Hughes,and we were rarely troubled. Then the ref blew the final whistle - relief all round, half because we had won and half because this tedious game was over. Had some fun on the way home,when I had to stand in the aisle and was joined by ex lister Niggy and we kept getting told off for talking by some weird woman whose enjoyment of her book was being spoiled by our conversation - was very funny but probably one of those 'you had to be there' moments. So a better result than performance but the last 2 games do suggest that we do not have much to fear in this Division. 2 weeks now to get McCormack up to speed and maybe get Parker / Snoddy / Paynter fit.
