Games like these are the reason why we will, at best, end up in a
play-off
spot. As a rule we have done well against good teams in this league
(Baaadiff excepted) but we keep dropping "bankers" time and time again
against lower, less skilled teams
Its not just this season either - last season, and quite prob the
one before
that as well, we dropped points to teams who were playing with the
postman
in goals and passing Scandanavian tourists as a front 2
We should be BURYING these chump sides - Its the one thing I dont
see with
Grayson - its that killer instinct that says "pfft - get out of my
way and
stop pretending your on my level" We should be recording some 4-0
wins some
3-0 wins hell even the odd pants'ing of sides, but no we cant do
that as we
dont have that killer instinct
(Also would help if we weren't shyte at defending, but that arguments
already in full flow)
Pete C (t'other one)
Anyone seen Pete C (the orriginal?) shed load of floods around where
he used
to be

I heard a fan moaning with one of the officials that the East Stand
Upper should have been opened. Their argument was that tickets for
the Pompey match only started to sell after the QPR match and it
takes weeks to get permission to open the new stand. Surely Bates
should have been planning for the stand to be open. Maybe he was too
busy ?

Rich said
McCormack ? 7. Very lively throughout. Dave N was worried about his
pace but I
think he showed some excellent bursts of speed to get himself into
good
positions. Played more advanced in the second half and looked
dangerous. I don't
think he suited a midfield role in the first half, he's an out and
out striker.
?
To be fair RIch,that assessment was based on one incident in a
previous game when it looked like he was through on goal but checked
back instead of taking it on in the same way as Max or Beckford
would have done. - I did take that comment back when I saw the
incident again on LUTV and saw that the opponant was in fact in
front of him and not alongisde.I have been very impressed with
McCormack in the glimpses we have had (olus watching a couple of
reserves games on LUTV) and would like to see him partnered with
Somma, although it is hard to criticise our attack this season given
the number of goals we have scored.
As for the Pompey fan - John Westwood - I have met him on a couple
of occasions abroad with? England - once in a fountain near
Marseilles and then in a pub the following day since he knew of the
lads I was with, and he?seemed a?decent lad - an antique book seller
by trade though god knows what his new customers think when they see
his tattooed face and body !
