I have to agree with Rich about the ref yesterday. I didn't think that he was
nearly so bad as most of the crowd did. I think that it was much more a case of
Pompey just having a lot more nous than us as you would expect from a relegated
Premiership outfit and a lot of the time they just stayed stronger on the ball.
Becchio was lucky not to be booked for that last minute dying swan act. Bloody
ridiculous - the second one. I suppose that if he had got away with it then he
would have been the hero and not the fool.
One other point. Who was it who got injured straight from kick-off. That was a
fairly nasty fall. It looked very painful and If it was Paynter then it might
have knocked a lot of stuffing out of him.
What a game though. From start to finish there was something going on except
maybe just before half time.
I think it was a reasonable shout for the penalty especially in the light of
the one given at Leicester against us.
Disallowed goal. Nowt wrong with it from my point of view and very well taken,
but the ref had just stopped play and gone over to have a word about harassing
the keeper in the six yard box. If anyone even touched him in the subsequent
corner move then the ref was obviously going to blow for a foul. Again, that's
nous.
