Clayton definitely got better second half, first he and Howson were non-existent. Though they were pretty much bypassed by hoofed balls up front. Kisnorbo looked ok when he came on too. White and Lees were very good.
I totally agree with the sentiment that we are missing Gradel. ________________________________ From: MATTHEW GAYNOR <[email protected]> To: list leedslist <[email protected]>; DAVID NATTAN <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, October 31, 2011 10:49 AM Subject: Re: [LU] Cardiff I think they need to do some more work with Keogh to try and turn him into a goalscorer, there were 2 occasions yesterday where Connolly put in good balls and Keogh was just a bit too slow in reacting / didnt attack the near post and thats not the first time that has happened. Sort of opportunities that Becchio might have scuffed in of his bum. We did in improve in terms of exerting more pressure after Becchio came on and i can see we are close to the point when he gets preferred in front of Keogh - even though i wouldnt disagree that Keogh is a better player. I think Pugh is also seen as a safe bet - i suspect Grayson would be nervous of starting Sam and White on the left as there is less cover when White goes forward. Playing White in midfield is an option but i think he's more effective starting his run from deeper (more difficult to mark) and we'd still need to find a left back. On the plus side i though Connolly and Lees looked very good yesterday and defence, one pathetic mistake apart, looked better. Our lack of threat is probably partly due to McCormack and Clayton both going off the boil a bit in recent weeks.
