American sports can be in a different galaxy to ours can't they?

How about the Nebraska College Football team - they've sold out every single
home game since 1962!!! In a stadium that holds over 80,000 these days too.

Or how about this week's baseball news - Albert Pujols signs a 10 year deal
with the LA Angels worth 254 million dollars - Gulp!!!

Having lived over in North America since 1952, I've seen some real contrast. In the early years, great players who plied their trade for the fun of the game and a little money. Now, its all about money and who gives a shi* about your teammates, never mind your opposition. College football - how can people really earn a degree and play football....traveling hundreds, if not thousands of kilometers to play games. Word is, the NCAA is considering paying top college football players a salary. Bloody farce, nothing but. There's so much hype in the U.S......they actually believe they can win the World Tiddlewinks Championship....and they don't know a Tiddley from a Wink. Absolute Bull!!!
