Football's somewhat of a confidence game, and I sometimes think players
and managers publically boost themselves and their teams because
otherwise they'd have to admit they were crap against poor opposition,
and then they'd get worse because against a crap team you should get
more shots/goals/possession/corners/applause/crowd noise. Or maybe their
plan was to crowd and stifle Snodgrass, and that because that worked
they were happy, ignoring the depressing football that remained.
