I think there should be a salary cap. But it ain't gonna happen unless it's 
world wide. As I said in a post lat month, the game is shagged IMHO, bosman 
handed the power to the players and it's now irreversible unless something can 
be done to stop the monstrous growth of player power and greed. 
As for the rugby league licensing system, I thinks it's a great idea but 
unsustainable in rugby league. Forcing teams like Cas and Wakey to build 12,000 
seat arenas on 5,000 crowds is unworkable in the long run and I reckon they 
will bin it sooner rather than later. The Rhinos have it right and have made a 
£500k profit for the last 4 years. All their players could earn more elsewhere 
but there is something special down there whereby a set of talented players 
have stuck together for the greater good. Having met them all they are a real 
joy to be around and lesson to PL footballers on humility. 
I don't like ken bates but scrape away all the crap and he is running the club 
on a (relatively) sensible basis. Problem is, this is football and not rugby 
league and humility and loyalty are difficult traits to find in professional 
football.
