I'm not so sure if it was caution or just match fatigue for most of their players. Portugal had most of the chances in normal time despite have only about 40% possession, but once Spain came to life in extra time Portugal were hanging on for dear life. I think Spain are amazing to watch, even when teams park the bus on them. The go horizontal for about 20 passes, but then hit one cutting pass that gets them going. Their level of skill is fantastic, and all of them work like a pub-team rooter when they lose possession. That said, it is weird how del Bosque doesn't seem to want to play strikers. I can't understand why Torres didn't get a look-in last night. He adds a directness that Spain were lacking for a lot of the match. I hope Germany get through to the final, cos it will be fantastic to watch the contrasts in styles both teams play. -- Mick Cooney [email protected] _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected] PETE CASS (1962 - 2011) Rest In Peace Mate
